Today, i had two close encounters with the British kind. Both went surprisingly well.
The first was when i went to the Ghost Town, which starred a British funnyman by the name of Ricky Gervais. I was definitely convinced this as a TV show and not a movie, but there it was on my ticket stub. Weird. At first i though, i would rather have it be a TV show because then i wouldn’t have to pay eight dollars for it. But after forking over the eight bucks, i have decided it was well spent. I got a good laugh out of the movie, and i think that if i had to put a price on it, eight bucks sounds about right. (Note: that might sound cheap, but as a high school student with a babysitters income, eight dollars is a nice chunk of change).
The second encounter was with the British band Little Man Tate. The lyrics to their song ‘This Must Be Love’ instantly made me smile a really weird awkward happy smile. The best kind of smile. The lyrics were just like the Georgia Nicholson series (By Louise Rennison): silly, childish, hilarious, and embarrassingly true. Speaking of Georgia Nicholson, the movie for the series came out this summer, in Europe only (WTF), and i have yet to see it. I keep trying to find a good enough quality one to watch on line, but all the illegal versions suck. I guess i will just have to wait until it is released in the US.
