… sometimes i read sports blogs.

okay, maybe a lot of times. really. i bet you knew that already.

little known fact: i am a philly fan. all sports. sixers, phillies, eagles. EAGLES. but sometimes, these teams really embarrass me. examples: Allen Iverson’s fat head, and the phillies pitiful lack of depth in the pitching department. but one of the most embarrassing philly sports moments of all times happened on monday. Insert eagles player DeSean Jackson. His almost-touchdown made it to the top of the 10 funniest things in the n.f.l. list on the new york times blog. I’m trying to type to the beat of the song I’m listening to (some sew, some find by cale parks) and it is becoming increasingly difficult.

i really wish there was a way to google pictures. i came across this picture the other day and have no idea who it is by or where it is from but i really like it.

the other day, i saw burn after reading. usually, I’m a pretty though movie critic, but for some reason i really enjoyed it. it wasn’t perfect by any means, but it was hilarious and had just the right amount of seriousness. and brad pitt was perfect.

p.s. dont worry, i have no idea how the title of this post relates to what the post is about either.

Story Time

“Are you angry? Punch a pillow. Was it satisfying? Not hardly. These days people are too angry for punching. What you might try is stabbing. Take an old pillow and lay it on the front lawn. Stab it with a big pointy knife. Again and again and again. Stab hard enough for the point of the knife to go into the ground. Stab until the pillow is gone and you are just stabbing the earth again and again, as if you want to kill it for continuing to spin, as if you are getting revenge for having to live on this planet day after day, alone.”

from No One Belongs Here More Than You  by Miranda July

The book is actually a collection of short stories. Usually, i’m not a big fan of short stories, but for some reason i can read these stories over and over again and still feel the same amount of emotion i did when i didn’t know the endings.

so yesterday, i went to the school of rock end of season show, like i have done every September for the past few years. i was a bit late, as me and a couple of friends were shopping down the street and couldn’t run down to the venue fast enough, but got there in time to see most of the show its always fun to watch, but the downside is that the large percentage of parents in the audience make you feel a bit lame.

almost forgot….my five songs of the week. here you go: twin cinema- the new pornographers, black hole- the will, bruce – bruce lucy, we used to vacation- cold war kids, and get me bodied (remix)- beyonce. not even kidding about that last one.

fashionista on the inside.

I’ve been reading an awful lot of fashion blogs lately. okay, maybe not just lately. maybe i thought i would get bored of them and it was just a phase, but 3 months later i still regularly check the sartorialist and style rookie and white lighting and like 50 million others. its terrably addicting. but they’re all so pretty and colorful and exciting…and did i mention pretty?

speaking of fashion, its new york fashion week! i love fashion week because its a double whammy. Not only are the clothes always interesting, the runway soundtracks are always fantastic.

i was particularly excited to see christain siriano’s show ( my second favorite project runway contest, after santiago). it was fierce.

and beautiful.

before i had status and before i had a pager; i could find the abstract; listening to hip-hop; my pops used to say it was a lot like be-bop.

thanks for that burst of inspiration that feel upon my ear when i put my ipod on shuffle this morning, A Tribe Called Quest. Really. It brightened my day.

anyway….by tomorrow i will officially have been a junior for a week. its already a drag. i already have no social life. i already ran out of appropriate clothes to wear.

got my hair cut yesterday. nothing fancy, just needed a trim. its feels a lot lighter though.

i really have nothing to say.

hmm.

five songs this week?

our life is not a movie or maybe- okkervil river, elvis- these new puritans, souled out- conor oberst and the mystical valley band, mother we can’t get enough- new radicals, pushover- the long winters.

just wanted to post to say that, although my activity is minimal, i am, in fact, still alive.

Heidi and Spencer

After my epic fail at softball tryouts yesterday caused me to re-examine what i have been doing with my weekend for the past 8ish years, i finally found something to compare it with. Sara is to softballwhat Heidi is to Spencer. Its sad but true. Spencer/softball can be enjoyable, but most of the time is just painful and takes time away from hanging out with better people. Heidi/Sara has doesn’t know what life would be like without Spencer/softball and is too afraid to quit. and although it is true that both the combinations of Spencer/Heidi and Sara/softball havegood times, I’m sure both Sara/Heidi could have an equally fun time with other activities/people.
